I love Twitter. It offers instant access to the words of strangers, friends and companies day or night. It's addictive. The lovely creator, Evan Williams, Tweeted about a profile that I just bumped into as well. It's called SecretTweet and it posts people's anonymous secrets via your twitter feed. They have a website to submit potential TweetSecrets here . Watch out - you can't stop reading!

Reading: Susan Sontag - Journals & Notebooks

I've been keeping a journal for as long as I can remember. In books, on the computer, scraps of paper, envelopes - I write everywhere. Perhaps that is why I was drawn today to the Reborn: Journals & Notebooks of Susan Sontag. This book seems to be snippets from her life ages 14 through 30. I am excited to see how someone made order of it all. It might inspire me to do the same.

The Verdesian - a green apartment building in NYC - could convince anyone to move to Battery Park! Every apartment comes with air & water filtration, used paints and building materials with low VOCs and apparently the building is 40% more energy efficient than code requires. I think the most exciting mention is the pesticide free roof garden. Now, only if I could afford to live this kind of greener life. They have to work on that part next!

I am looking forward to Discovery Home's 2008 conversion to Planet Green. They've been rotating a few new shows that will be part of their line up.

"Manic Organic" - Antony John, a quirky organic farmer with 30 minutes of farming advice you can use in everyday life while cooking.

"Get Fresh With Sara Snow" - Sara seems to know her stuff, offering tips on greening just about every part of your life without preaching. Yet, with her dad at the helm of the Eden foods empire how could she not?

"Wasted" (households making their homes greener) and "Greenovate" (flipping houses greenly) also caught my eye.

However, the one I am waiting to preview is "Worlds Greenest Homes" with host Emmanuel Belliveau. No real sign of that one yet - keep watching!

Million Trees NYC

Well I am back and I vowing to find the time to blog about things I love. I'd like to start with the fact that last week they put 4 new trees on my block! I was walking to work daily watching the progress - cutting wholes in the cement, getting soil in and finally the happy little sapplings (well, not too small)!

I believe this is all part of the pledge NYC is making to put in 1 million trees by 2017 to reduce air pollution. I saw it mentioned on NY1 a while back and I think its such a great idea. You can even plant your own tree and have it count - so get planting! Check out the project HERE

A few years ago my mom and I started collecting items that I liked for my "home to be". It's very 1800's for such a modern gal like myself, however, the thought of my greatgrandmother's china and assorted vintage ceramic finds mixed in with new items like a bamboo serving dish (a la Target this past Oct.)- well - I couldn't resist.

This is one item I think will be making it to my collection this year!
